A Little About Myself Young 80 year-old. |
Pros Not very good. |
Cons I can't use this lift chair, because it hurts my back. |
Service & Delivery The service was great> The delivery-man set it up and I tried to use it immediately. Also had a man come out to tighten up the bolts but I still can't sit in it. The buttons hurt my back and it doesn't have a lot of filling. Below the back isi very uncomfortable. The salesman was great and the service was good but I can't sit in the chair and get comfortable. |
It is the pride 358M. |

Pros Solid, well built
Easy to use--only two buttons
Comfortable |
Cons We found the buttons hard to read. They have little arrows on the buttons, but they are the same color as the rest of the button, so unless you have good eyesight (which many old people don't) you won't be able to see them. I solved that problem by coloring in the arrows with a permanent black marker, which makes them much more visible. |
Service & Delivery Service was prompt and the delivery man was very helpful. We had to pay for inside delivery because we had no one to help us get the chair inside. The box was too big to fit in the elevator where Mother lives, so he had to unbox it first. He got it in the house undamaged and even tried to put the back on for us. Fortunately, I checked to make sure the back was on securely before letting Mother sit in it, and found it wasn't. Only one side had clicked into place, whereas both sides must for the chair to be safely used. Be sure to check this if someone else puts your chair together. |
I got this chair for my 94-yr-old mother who has severe arthritis of the hip and knee. She could no longer get out of her regular recliner because it was too hard for her to put the footrest down. This chair eliminates that problem because it does it mechanically. She says the chair is comfortable and hasn't complained about it, which for my mother is a seal of approval. For those of you trying to decide between the small and medium chair, I would strongly urge you to go with the medium because they do run kind of small. My mother is about 5'3" and the chair (a med.) is just barely big enough for her. I am 5'9 1/2" and find it far too small for me, even though it is supposed to accommodate someone of my size. All in all, though, we are happy with the chair. It allows Mother to once again sit in a recliner and watch TV. |
